About the Author
Ben Whisman is an editor, writer, artist, voice audio artist, and web designer, with professional experience from the mid-1980’s to late 1990’s in desktop publishing and graphics, and from the early 1990’s in font design.
Ben Whisman has appeared in a few web science fiction and fantasy podcasts and fan audio-video series since 2009, and other voice audio work on the web since 2006. Related: Voice and Audio Work.
He has been a science fiction fan as long as he can remember, and some of his story ideas and drawings date back to high school.
He is from Texas. He speaks English natively. He speaks rustily fluent French from high school and college French literature classes, and some Spanish, each with near-native accents. Other languages and cultures are always interesting.
Special areas of concern include web accessibility, handicap and impairment needs, and GLBT / gay-friendly issues. He was a primary caregiver from the early 1990’s until late 2011.
His earlier web design work, artwork, editing, original writing, and voice work appeared throughout Codey’s World, a volunteer project on which he worked (as Ben W. Blue) as web admin and forum admin from its start in 2005 until 2010. He stepped down after disagreements with Tim, Codey’s surviving partner.
He is currently a staffer for two cats who probably know all his passwords.
